Server Installation:
Please follow the steps below to install WYWO to
your server.
NOTE: Installation MUST be initiated from a workstation NOT DIRECTLY
ON THE SERVER ITSELF. This applies to shared 'workgroup' PC's as well
as NT, Novell, Linux etc.
Step 1.
Open Windows Explorer and:
Create a new temporary folder on your local
workstation C: drive named WYWOTEMP.
MOVE or copy the downloaded file
(wywo16.exe) into the
temporary folder you have just created. (WYWO is installed TO the Server from this
folder). If you have already downloaded the file to your server you
should MOVE it to a workstation to begin installation.
Double click the wywo16.exe file to
extract the files.
Run SETUP.EXE to begin the Server
Installation.
During the Server installation, Setup will ask where
you would like to install WYWO.
Select a shared folder on your server (which you have
already created, or create one on the fly)
(Example)
w:\apps\wywo
Setup will copy the files from the
workstation to the server, and create several icons (on the
workstation) allowing access to the main program and the Admin
function (WSETUP). The Admin Icon is ONLY created on the workstation
used to install TO the server.
NOTE: Installation to the server
also performs the client install, so there is no need to go to step 3
for this PC.
Step 2.
Adding users to the
database:
Run the ADMIN program (WSETUP.EXE)
and add your users.
Do NOT choose the 'Use mail for
receiving' selection or the phone book option will be disabled. (Which
is one of the most useful features!)
Step 3.
Client Installation:
Go to each workstation and open Windows Explorer:
Run the client installer from the folder on the Server.
(Example) w:\apps\wywo\install.exe
Client setup will create a new
Program Group, and create the Icons required for the users to access the
software (residing on the server).
Open the Program Group and select the WYWO Icon. When
WYWO is run for the first time it will ask if it should be added to the
Startup Group, and also the name of the default user for this PC. Choose
the correct user name and choose the SAVE option.
The program is now installed and initialized for the
workstation.
Minimum Client System
