WHOS-IN Pro - Admin Help
Database Path:

The Database Path screen allows you to set the location of the WHOS-IN Pro database file (whosin.mdb). This information is stored in the WHOSIN.INI file, located in the same directory as the USER.EXE and ADMIN.EXE files.
If the database is located in the same folder as the program files (which it is by default) there is no need to enter a path - WHOS-IN will assume the database is 'local' to the EXE files.
The path to the database is stored in the .INI file to allow Network Administrators to place the .EXE files in a read only folder, and the database in a different read write folder (or even a different server).
Before changing the path, the new destination should contain a valid working copy of the WHOS-IN Pro database (whosin.mdb).
A UNC path to the new database location is COMPULSORY.
(Drive letters are not accepted).
TIP:
Use the BROWSE button to locate the database, and begin drilling down from
'My Network Places' or 'Network Neighborhood' to ensure a valid UNC path is obtained to the database.
To save the new path to the database, press OK.
If the path is invalid, does not exist, or does not contain the database
file, an error message is generated.
NOTE: You can also use an IP Address if you are publishing the database on your Intranet.
