8 June 2002 - Due to lack of financial viability, PostCode Express
is no longer being SOLD. From now until the end of 2002 it is being
GIVEN AWAY for FREE to anyone who wants it. If you need an alternative

Ver 2002 (20 Dec 2001) - Updated to include latest 1st
Nov 2001 postal charges, a new (12 Dec 2001) PostCode database,
updated help, and added a new WinWord 2000 / XP macro installer.
Ver 2000a (10 August 2000) - Updated PX2000
to include latest 1st August 2000 PostCodes, and updated the Postal
Charges to include the latest GST inclusive rates (where
applicable).
Ver 2000 (16 Dec 99) - Updated PX2000 Word Macros. Added 5 second delay
if PX is not running to prevent error message indicating PX could not be
loaded (when in actual fact it was in the process of doing so). Also
updated Help File fixing several hyperlink errors.

Removed Fine / Coarse Soundex Option. Now Soundex is either ON or OFF.
ALL program and support files are now installed to the PROGRAM directory to help eliminate
problems encountered with duplicate DLL's residing in the Windows directory / Folder.
Database files continue to reside in the DATABASE directory.
Removed 'Search as you type' option. This was causing problems with auto abbreviation
expansions. (Example: Entering NTH BALWYN now correctly locates NORTH BALWYN)

Revised help file with our new 8 digit phone numbers. (See Address Details for more info.)
Added Full Text Searching to the Help File / On-Line Manual. This allows
searching for any word, anywhere in the document.
Added support for the new 8000 series PostCodes allocated in the Melbourne area.
Bug Fix:
Starting a search, then repeatedly pressing the Search button caused
PostCode Express to go into a seemingly endless loop. The search button and DataEntry Box
are now disabled during the search procedure.
Ver 4.12d (September 1994)
Converted all screens to the new 3D style Windows 95 look & feel.
Added support for the new 09 and 90 series PostCodes.
Reduced load time by approximately 7 seconds. However, the trade off is longer loading
times for the Calculators, Setup and Address screens.
Added an Always On Top option. This allows the ICON to float over
the top of other full screen applications.
Added Abbreviations screen to the Info menu item. This describes
all the abbreviations used throughout the PostCode Express database.
Database format upgraded from Access 1.1 to Access 2.
DDE routines rewritten using the latest Access 2 format commands. (This gives approx 100%
search speed increase)
Added column headings and re-sizeable columns to the Exact Match and Soundex results
boxes.
Increased the overall width of the screen to allow for longer Location names.
New Table of Contents DLL allows multiple help documents, Help on using the
TOC, plus the ability to Print all Topics in the On-Line Manual.
Abort Search button removed. All searches are now carried out using Microsoft SQL
Statements, & cannot be interrupted.
Added Exit button to ToolBar.
Updated both Aust. and International Postage Charges Calculators with the latest charge
rates.
Re-written the installation program to allow for more user defined install options.
Bug Fixes:
Network multi-user installations may now install both the database and the
security locking file to a read/write subdirectory.

Mouse positioned over Exact Matches Box or Soundex now displays correct screen.

Addressing details screen - displays info on how to correctly address mail.

Each user (if running on a network) may now store their settings in the personal .INI
file.
Extended select incorporated into Exact Match & Soundex boxes for bulk copying to
Clipboard.
If Soundex is switched off, the Exact Matches Box now occupies almost all the available
display area.
Improved look & feel for the Calculator(s) with a spreadsheet type interface.
New color icons on the ToolBar for improved aesthetics.
New International Postage Charges Calculator now included for overseas postings.
New On-Line manual system using Virtual Media Technology includes context sensitive links
to the PostCode Express program. (based on your mouse position)
Reduced system resource usage by unloading the about screen & waving flag.
Selecting the AustCalc button with no location highlighted no longer produces an error
message.
Setup settings are now stored in POSTCODE.INI file. (in the Windows directory)
Status boxes now displayed on the main screen.
Support for Large Font Mode has been added to the Setup screen.
The database is now in Microsoft Access format, and may be modified by the user.
The separate Setup program has been deleted, and incorporated into the main program.
ToolBar and macro support for Word for Windows version 6 has been added.

Searches may now be limited to a single State. (eg VIC only)

PostCode Express has been totally re-written using Visual Basic version 3.
Support for the new '14' prefix PostCodes added.
The main screen has been reduced in size so that it no longer 'takes over' most of the
screen when running in 640 x 480 video mode.
A Microsoft style ToolBar (with both icons & words) included.
The 'messages' box has been relocated to the bottom of the main screen.
The messages box now displays quick help as the mouse passes over each object on the
screen.
The Format menu item is new, and allows user to select Field and Record separators.
The Help file has been expanded, with almost double the number of search items available.
The Drag & Drop icons have been changed to more accurately describe what they do.
Bug Fix - The waving flag icon in the About screen disabled both
Microsoft & After Dark Screen Savers.
The digital clock has been removed to free up system resources for other applications.
PX-Setup now allows modification of the Format menu, check boxes and Soundex buttons.
Instance checking now gives you the option of running more than one copy of PostCode
Express.
The DDE link has been improved, and now copies Soundex matches to the source application.
Extra reversed entries have been added for 'Cape' and `Lake'.
Ver 4.1b (Apr 1993)
Total re-write using Visual Basic version 2. - Not released due to imminent
release of VB3.

Quit button removed & replaced with standard `File / Exit' menu.

Ver 4.02 - Bug fix release only. (Feb 1993)
When pressing Escape to quit PostCode Express, an error message would appear
(mentioning an Array) immediately prior to shutting down.
If the waving flag in the about screen was left running for 2 days 4 hours & 36 mins -
an Overflow error message would appear. (Boy was this a hard one to track down!)
Ver 4.00 (Nov 1992)
Postal Charges Calculator added.
The About screen has been removed at start-up and placed under Help.
'About' now has an Australian flag waving instead of the Windows flag.
The Macro has been modified, and matched more closely to the program. It now no longer
needs to 'Change Directories' to PostCode. This has been incorporated internally into the
program.
Added a Digital Clock.
Expanded Help to include details on setting up the Macro, adding to the ToolBar and a
Macro example.
Extra info for network installations included.
